CLASS-9
1. BIT - It is basic unit of computers. It has two
values 1 & 0 only.
2. BYTE - Combination of 8 Bits.
3. Bug - A software bug is an error.
4. Antivirus software - A program designed to look
for and destroy viruses that may infect the memory of a computer or files
stored on a computer.
4. Crash - Your computer or application no longer
works Correctly.
5. Google – Search engine on the web.
6. GUI - Graphical User Interface uses icons and
menus to carry out commands such as opening files, delete files, move files
etc..
7. Hard copy - Text or graphics printed on paper;
also called a printout.
8. Offline – Compute/Device is not connected to the
Internet.
9. Online – Computer/ Device connected to the
Internet.
10. Soft copy - Information shown on the display
screen.
11. Sort - To arrange the data in ascending and
descending order.
12. Port - An electrical connection on the computer
into which a cable can be plugged.
13. Protocol - A set of rules over the Network.
14. Trash - Place where you put files and folders
that you want to delete.
15. Touchpad - The device on a laptop computer that
takes the place of a mouse.
16. Viral- If an online video, photo or article
"goes viral", it experiences a sudden spike in popularity in a short
period of time.
17. Zip- Compress multiple files into one small size
file. It's a handy way to make files smaller before sending them via email.
18. Spam-Spam refers to unwanted email/messages sent
for marketing purposes.
19. Resolution-Resolution refers to the number of
pixels that make up the display on a monitor screen.
20. Compression-Compression reduces the size of a
file.
